Please Let me know this Que and Ans please Because i applied for a H1B VISA nad i have a INTERVIEW as soon so please "Difference between Linux and Unix and also C and C++ and also about Shell Scripting about all Questions and Answers ."

UNIX:- Created in the late 1960s by Ken Thompson and Dennis Ritchie at Bell Laboratories, Unix is a server-oriented operating system that was aimed to support a multi-user environment. The architecture behind Unix was to provide a simple modular operating system, yet sophisticated, to support an array of multi-user and network tasks.


LINUX:-Linux is a variant of Unix, created by Linus Torvalds, that shares common characteristics but is not identical by any means. It can run on a variety of hardware from Intel to PowerPC CPU systems. The most significant aspect about Linux is that the kernel or the core of the operating is freely distributed so developers all over the globe can modify the source code and use it for their own purposes without any licensing or IP concerns


i think it will be sufficient for your interview..
i dont know much about the C & C++ bcoz i am basically a system admin guy.

C is command language, around since 1970, very powerfull very easy to move the other
processors , highly influencal to other languages.

C++ is the object orientated version on C, the diffference is basic that the C manual is a few pages, while C++ manul is a few thousand pages.


shell scripting:
totaly diffent stuff, you can use any command installed on you computer; since it is an interpreter 'Language' error may appear later, very powerfull most time used as 'glue' between programms.
Most shell support stuff like loops and controllstructures.
perl is called 'shell on steroids'
