I have configured samba for working
with and external ldap(ad windows2003+openldap backend to obtain the same uid and gid on all linux machines)
On linux works perfect,and i get the same uid for a X user
on all machines.
On solaris11 and hpux 11.31 not
wbinfo -u works fine

Hi,
I accidentally did this:
wadhwaso@nxsdgd01 deps]$sudo rpm -e --nodeps glibc-2.5-107.x86_64
error: %postun(glibc-2.5-107.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 255
and since then I am not able to run any command on this server except 'cd'.
I always get the following error:

Earlier my lpstat syntax is working on o/s, I have installed cups "cups-1.6.1" after that I'm not able to open the printer option in GUI and cannot do the query "lpstat -a"
Below is the error i'm getting..Request you to advice me the best to me.

I definately screwed up my libraries, but I am not sure how. I get this error:

Hi Guys.
I moved my root partition, deleted the old one and set GRUB up using Yast.
It all booted OK when I tested it but the second reboot has just brought me straight onto a GRUB promt
GRUB > _

Ok, trying to increase the security of my Linux box, I put /sbin/nologin under roots entry in the etc/passwd file. I copied the old passwd file before making this change, but didnt set perms the way I should have. SO now my normal user has NO rights to change the passwd file and ROOT cannot... (3 Replies)
