i accidentaly made the root entry inactive at the /etc/passwd file (by adding an * at the start of it)
and now i can''t have a root privill..
is there something to be done for this situation to end ??
pls help !

Post the output of "uname -a", without knowing specifically what OS we are dealing with it is not possible to reply.

The general procedure is to boot from CD/floppy and mount the root partition and repair the file, then reboot.

thx reborg that worked ! i started the pc from a mandrakemove cd and from there i mounted the root partition on a dir and i repaired the file ! Smilie
