SSH threw my router?

Hey,

I've set up SSH on my RH9 machine and if i'm on the LAN i can connect to it(port 22) no problems. However, if i'm trying to connect from outside my LAN then it will not connect. I've set up port forwarding from port 22 outside to port 22 inside to the right IP addy... any sudgestions?

Upon a packet capture i've realized that the packets are not even making it to my SSH server.... They are being stopped at my router.... The connection is failing because the router keeps sending me back TCP RST packets. What would cause this?

Is the SSH port enabled on your Red Hat machine (check /etc/services and make sure the ssh is not commented out.) RST is a reset packet. Also want to make sure that you have assigned your RH machine a static IP address to allow port forwarding.

Ya port 22 is enabled and i do have a static IP on my RH9 box. Does SSH use two ports like FTP? maybe taht is the problem, i don't know.

finally got it to work... i don't know why but for some odd reason i had to copy run start on my router and reload it.
