ls in Linux

Hi,

when is give a ls* > some.lst fin linux, there are some spl. characters which are coming along with the list.

Code:
^[[00;32mararm.so^[[00m
^[[00;32marbasic.so^[[00m
^[[00;32marchietest.so^[[00m
^[[00;32marfinrptclnt.so^[[00m
^[[00;32marfinrptjni.so^[[00m
^[[00;32margetconfig^[[00m
^[[00;32margetjavahome^[[00m

What can we do to ignore this. Kindly suggest.

Thanks,
Pradebban.

What's the output of alias ls?

Basically, it looks like your ls is an alias, which always colorizes output, even when it's not printed on a terminal. You can change that either by re-defining the alias, or by calling /bin/ls directly.
