You should be able to simply install over the Windows installation with your Linux disks. You can remove the Windows installation first if you would prefer by using a utility such as fdisk which will format the drive. fdisk is a program that comes with DOS.

You need to be in DOS mode. From the command prompt, type fdisk. It will prompt you. Of course, be sure to remove any files you want save before reformatting your drive!! If you have your Linux disks, then you should be to load it directly. To do this make sure that your boot sequence includes either your CD ROM or floppy drive. You can change your boot sequence in Windows by hitting DELETE key just as your machine is rebooting. From there, Linux will load onto the machine.

well, I found a way to do it anyway, I used the install program for windows 200 to remove the windows partion, then I used the windows NT 4 installation to create one large partion for linux, and a very small one for windows (about 200 mb's) then I installed windows NT on the small partion (this linux version has to create files using a windows program beafure it can be installed aparently, or using dos (wich I did not have)) then I installed linux on the big partion using the linux installer for windows, rebooted the computer and used the windows installation CD to remove the windows partion leaving only linux on the computer... bit unorthodox Smilie
