Currently ZFS on Linux is only freely available using FUSE ZFS for Linux due to licensing issues. However a native port by KQ Infotech based on ZFS Pool 18 is just entering beta under a CDDL source-code license. Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory/DOE are also doing a native port which will also be opensource.
