New to Linux

Hi Guys

I have a keen interest in learning Linux/Unix command language. Unfortunantly i dont have much knowledge on the subject. The only way i can learn either systems is from home.

Can someone please help me find a copy of Linux/UNIX.

Also how do you install these operating system? Is it has simple has installing Windows?

Any help would be greatful.

This is easy. There's many kinds, depending on your needs. You could try ubuntu, which is extremely friendly but rather nonstandard, or fedora which has a higher learning curve but will teach you more. gentoo will be quite difficult, but has a helpful IRC channel, and you will learn fast.

Installers are friendlier than they used to be, but still aren't the same as installing Windows. Gentoo in particular can be installed purely by hand, without any automated installer; this isn't simple but is well-documented in many languages and very educational.
