Horizontal Lines

I get horizontal black lines after each line of text and every blank line is colored black.

I am using HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn and Linux Suse 11.1. Others accessing the printer using Linux/Windows machine are not facing any such problem.

Please advise what can be done.

Hello Corona688,

I had to install HPLIP to setup the printer. My guess is it uses CUPS. Is there a way I can make sure?

Yes, it uses CUPS according to the HPLIP system requirements.

Letting a garbage proprietary driver configure your system for you is perilous. Did it tell you what changes it made? Can you even uninstall it now? HPLIP might be the place to start asking.

Hello,

The other linux users are also using HPLIP. I do not think I will be able to uninstall it. Also, When I try to print a test page, i get only half page printed and the other half left blank.

Could there be a problem in configuration?

Quite probably. If there's no way for you to even tell what changes HPLIP made, they'd be the first people to ask.

Vi horizontal scrolling

I have to look through logfiles where lines are several hundred characters long and if I open the log in Vi it automatically word wraps the line. In Vim you can use the -nowrap option to stop this, but how can you do this in Vi? I ask because I don't want to see the whole line, just the first few... (8 Replies)
