I am creating a file with all the source folders included in my git branch, when i grep for the used source, i found source included as relative path instead of absolute path, how can convert relative path to absolute path without changing directory to that folder and using readlink -f ? ... This may not be the right place, since it is not exactly unix or linux, but it does involve cygwin. I have two cygwin installations. When I start a mintty terminal, I need to toggle a windows path variable to make sure that the correct cygwin dll gets loaded.

Well I have a lot of scripts that require dragging and dropping files in order to define Source files etc.
However more often then not it is the case that the path to said file contains NUMEROUS spaces.
I know one way to evade this problem is to encase the path in Quotes like this:

I was wondering if there is a way to access some NFS symlink files that are set using absolute paths from Windows?
On windows/cygwin, I'm able to access relative path symlinks but not the absolute path symlinks.

I have installed cygwin on my windows XP system. And I am trying to use the following code snippet:
set SERVER="grep JDBCConnectionPool config.xml | gawk -F; '{print $2}'"
sed -i 's/%SERVER%/WLMDEVDB1/' config.xml
