routing to two subnets from a multi-homed server

We have two subnets, say 'domA' (192.168.0.0/24) and 'domB' (10.10.0.0/16). These subnets are connected through the router 'router01'. One server 'base01' has two network cards, configured to domA and domB subnets respectively.

Now let's consider a host host01.domA (192.168.0.5) trying to connect to base01. host01.domA has no problems when connecting to base01.domA, but host01.domA is not able to connect to base01.domB.

The router is working fine because host01.domA is able to connect to other hosts on domB that are not multi-homed.

What is interesting is that we never had this problem until we installed Ubuntu on base01. We have been using OpenSuSE until now without this particular problem.

When I look at tcpdump on base01.domB for ping requests, I see the incoming requests, but there is no echo going back.

I hope I am able to explain my problem. I would be more than willing to give more details if needed.

I would really appreciate if someone can give me some idea as to where I should be looking to find the solution.

thanks
