Error transgressing gui...?!

Smilie here is a question for dummies questions and answers that I am very interested in hearing about.. any input would be appreciated.. I have noticed that 90% of the populace of the unix.forum is somwhat connectivity oriented.. I am not! I am just wondering, to get familiar with unix ip and networking where should I start.. and how should I go about gathering the right information for someone that is totally in the dark about IP and networking.. I tried to read up but most of the details are still a little complex.. if any one knows of a particular websites that offers free training or courses.. in text or html.. and that really takes into consideration that there are some us of out there still in the process of learning the basics of unix command structure.. and haven't a clue of what most websites, books, material, or others are talking about as far as IP and networking. I would appreciate the help. of course I will always use mozilla.. but as far as the text terminal where I spend 99% of my time, I would really love to achieve some kind of connection with the IP and networking world..
thanx moxxx68Smilie
