BEGINNER: routing

Hello.

I'm learning network administration now. It's hard to find good books or articles about it (they all say what to type but not why), so I'm afraid I'll have to bother you with some questions.

So. I have this network:
BEGINNER: routing-net-scheme1gif
'router' is an ADSL router.

I have ubuntu 10.04 installed on my machine. It is connected to the ADSL router which is in bridging mode, so it allows me to connect to Internet through PPPoE. Ubuntu system has a VirtualBox installed that runs FreeBSD 8.0. VirtualBox's network adapter is in bridging mode too. IP's are on the plan.

I need to make a route to connect FreeBSD to Internet. Could you please tell me how to do it and - more important - why and how is it going to work?

Thank you in advance.

Have 'routed' run on your Ubuntu and on FreeBSD's gateway point to your Ububtu

It should work

Thanks for reply.
I found another solution: NAT on VBox. But it worked once and then it died - since Oracle bought Sun VBox works badly. CentOS does not install at all for instance. So VBox is not an option for me anymore.
Thanks anyway. Good luck.
