Bring NIC in Promiscious Mode

Hello,

I have windows 2000 on my pc and in order to capture network traffic it is required to to bring the NIC into promiscious mode.

Can any one please guide me what is required to achieve it?

thanks in advance.

Usually, the promiscuous mode should be enabled by the packet sniffing software. WireShark, for example, can do that, but you'll need administrative privileges for that, or have PCAP running as a system service.

thanks. I have actually installed Wireshark, so it's now clear that it will be taken care by wireshark.
