Monitoring VMWare servers with Nagios?

Hello,
What would be the best way to monitor a vmware server through a Draytek firewall using Nagios?
I'm quite new to nagios and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I have been trying to monitor my Windows 2003 server using nagios, I am not having much luck. I tried to use this guide:
http://www.telnetport25.com/2012/01/...10-monitoring/
I have completed the previous two guides in the series and the one above but on all my services for the windows server I get the error 'CRITICAL - Socket timeout after 10 seconds '. Why could this be happening? I am quite confused because I thought I had followed the guide exactly.

Thank you in advanced,
Jethro

Can you please share the details of the server you have been using as a nagios server? Because, different OS has different setup methods.

Try bypassing the firewall to see if that is the problem.
