Terminating Processes by Name

Hi!

Just want to know if there is one command that I can use to kill processes by its name.

Thanks.

"pkill" command does this, e.g. "pkill -9 httpd", but it's not available on HPUX, so you can substitute it with :
Code:
kill -9 `ps -eaf| grep 'processname' | grep -v grep | awk '{ print $2 }'`

but be careful with that, you can execute it without the kill and see what it prints.
