HP-UX logical volume length mapping

HI,
I have to find the length of the logical vol. that is spanned on different PV.
Now i have to find that is any bit map type structure of physical extents of any logical volumes and how i can find that.
Suppose I extend one LV on two PV on same VG.

How i can jump on the starting location of 2nd PV physically?

If I create one LV called /home1 of 500Mb and then /home2 of 345Mb and then i extend /home1 on first PV and then 2nd PV and then i delete /home2 then how i can trverse the /home1?

My main aim is to trverse the whole /home1 LV through my program.

One more query is that I want to find the bitmap structure of all used/unused datablocks and Inodes in the Vxfs File system.

Regards
Sandy

Your question is quite vague. When you mean jump, how do you intend to do this jump? Are you going to be using a C program? or is it all at command level?

Also, about the /home1 and the /home2 filesystems, you can specify which PV to create a LV on.. I'm sorry, I dont get your question.

HI,
Ya i am using the C programm and before writing the complete module i am using the a Hexeditor for tarversing the harddisk manually.
I am giving one more example to elaborate my problem.
I create a logical volume og 500mb called /test1 on PV01, after this LV in PV1 there is huge space.
Then i add one more hdd on the same volume group VG00 and hen i extented the size of /test1 by 1000MB on the second PV02 now its total length became 1500 Mb. And now it is laying on two hdds(PVs).
When i search for superblock of this LV (Bcoz i dont know the structure where all LV information is stored like VTOC in Unixware or Solaris). From superblock i got the filesystem length.
now i have a problem that how i can determine that how many PV Extents are occupied on First PV and address of second PV.
How this information is stored on the Hdd.

Still not sure what you are asking for if you want to know information about the physical extents currently the command pvdisplay can get you alot of this. If you are talking about things like LIF etc... you are going to have to be more specific.
