I assume you mean: use date command with another format --

Code:
date "+%Y-%m-%d %H:%M:%S"

The date format string starts with the + character, it does not show up in the output.
If you forget it you get an error message

Hi, I am extracting a date string from the source file like this : 06/05/2014 16:04:00 I want to change it to 05-JUN-14 04.05.00.000000000 PM I basically store the date in a variable. DateTime::format - Returns date formatted according to given format

string DateTimeImmutable::format (string $format) string DateTimeInterface::format (string $format) Procedural style string date_format (DateTimeInterface $object, string $format) Returns date formatted according to given format. PARAMETERS
o $object -Procedural style only: A DateTime object returned by date_create(3) o $format - Format accepted by date(3). RETURN VALUES
Returns the formatted date string on success or FALSE on failure. EXAMPLES
