Empty Directory, big size

Hello,
Can you please explain why I have various empty directories with large size ?
OS is B.11.11

Did you check for hidden files (files starting with a dot)? Is/was there a lot of activity in those directories? Did you see the size using du or ls?

No hidden files.

ls -l:
drwxr-xr-x 2 bil bil 237568 Aug 24 09:33 old_files/

du:
480 old_files/

So I guess du gives the right answer.
Does this consumes my storage or it is just a problem on how ls sees the Directory ?

The reason is that each directory entry uses up some space in the form of inodes, which are calculated against the directory's size. It doesn't consume any space on the disk, since the inodes are marked as useable again when the files are removed, but the directory will still retain its maximum "size" in ls output.
