HP_UX installation disks - is this what i need?

Hello Folks,
I recently screwed up and accidently deleted a lot of very necessary system files on my HP-UX test machine at home during a 'cleanup' of disk space. I think I have no option other than to reinstall the OS now. Its not something I'd planned to do or that I've done before but ironically I guess it will be a good exercise for me to follow. I bought the system in the first place to learn about HP-UX and it was already installed as follows:

# uname -a
HP-UX jtunix B.11.11 U 9000/785 2015347792 unlimited-user license

Anyway, my first hurdle is that I need to obtain the necessary installation CD/DVDs

I have the noticed that a pair of DVDs are being sold on ebay labelled as follows: (on first disk):

HP-UX 11i Version 2
Application Software
HP Integrity and HP 9000 servers.
December 2001 DVD 1 of 2
(SOFTWARE ON THIS DISC IS SECURED AND REQUIRES A CODEWORD)

Is this what i need? or is this something else completely different?
I'm wary that it says 'Application Software' and not something like 'OS'
and even if it is the OS install disks, will they be useless without some sort of software key as suggested in the comment?

I'd really appreciate some advice.

Thanks,
Jim.

The Application Software DVDs are not the Operating System CDs. They contain add-on software which may require a licence key.
If you can still run "swlist" it will tell you what software is installed (but not which medium it came from). If you intend to access your existing disc(s) it will be very important that you know which disc software you have and the layout of any mirrors/stripes etc.

HP-UX 11.11 is nearly 10 years old and there were number of essential patch kits to add to the base software early in its life.

Best to find out the exact model of your workstation and find out what kit would have been shipped with that computer and what patch kits are essential for your hardware.

Many thanks for the info. I wondered if they might not be the correct DVDs - I appreciate the confirmation.

The server I have is an HP 9000 C360 Workstation.

So, can anyone suggest where i can pickup copies of the V11.11 installation disk(s). There is nothing on ebay and I have asked the supplier who originally sold me the machine and they cannot help.
I have checked the links listed in the 'Dummys Guide' section of this forum but I cannot find any download sites or ftp links for HP-UX. I assume this is because I will have to pay for it.

Can anyone advise?

Thanks.

HP-UX is not free and its quite expensive. Your system is a PA-RISC system. I don't know where you would be able to get the disk, try search some torrent sites, but your system would not be "legal", but thats up to you.
