are you killing the child process??
is that process has any trap handling??

ABORTJOB is not an HP-UX command. It is a command from the OS called (I think) MPE which runs on HP 3000 systems. While this is off-topic, I will leave the thread open in case a MPE (or is it MPX) expert comes along. But Unix experts probably cannot help.

Unable to kill sleeping process

Hi, I'm trying to delete a sleeping process (parent ID is not 1) with "kill -9" command by the owner of the process (infodba) but it doesn't get killed.
