Use and complete the template provided. The entire template must be completed. If you don't, your post may be deleted!

1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data:
I am new to Unix and I am having problems seeing the output of my program.

2. Relevant commands, code, scripts, algorithms:
I have us emacs to type my code as followed:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>

int main (void)
{
printf(“Hello World!\n”);
exit (1);
}

I then typed ctrl x ctrl c to save the file. I then typed cc filename. After I typed ls and the a.out file was presents. The instructions then say to type PATH=${PATH}:. and then the output, which is "Hello World" should be present, but I do not see it. What am i doing wrong or is there something else that I have to type?

3. The attempts at a solution (include all code and scripts):
I have looked through my book and on the web extensively but I cannot find an answer. I have even emailed my professor but have not received anything back.

4. Complete Name of School (University), City (State), Country, Name of Professor, and Course Number (Link to Course):
Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
Edwardsville Illinois, USA
Dr. Yun Wang, CS 314

That PATH command only allows you to run things in the current directory, it doesn't actually run it. you have to type a.out and hit enter to run it.

Or you could just type ./a.out and hit enter, skipping the PATH part entirely. That's the proper way to do it.
