I have a PIII server, 700mb RAM, 500mhz.. the video card just, quit.. i replaced it with antoher video card.. that too wont work.. i know for a fact both cards are in working order, and it isnt my monitor... what is the problem? i cleaned out the whole computer last night, unplugged EVERYTHING then pluggd it back in.. still have the prob.. what is up??

The slot, which the card plugs into. Or the electronics that control it.

I'm assuming it's an AGP slot? Try getting an ancient PCI video card and see if that works.

ive checked, one card is normal PCI, the other one, i dont know what it ism, its a vid card, that has a SPECIAL slot.. well the one vid card with the special slot, well theres only ONE slot.. so i cant check on another slot.. i tried ALL the PCI slots.. no video.. but the ethernet card blinks.. so no probs there..

How did you ever find a replacement video card if you don't know what the SPECIAL SLOT is? In all likelihood it's AGP:


How do you know the problem is even the video card? I've seen ethernet cards blink when the computer is OFF. So all blinking means is that it's receiving power, not that the computer's working.

For that matter, maybe your monitor died

no by blinking i meant that the slots recieving power.. and the card is AGP.. i had to think for a second.. i have one AGP and one PCI.. i tried pci on ALL slots, no work.. i tried the AGP in well, the one AGP slot and it didnt work... the AGP was the ORIGINAL video card.. i just had the PCI lying around..
