Changing Filesystem size.
Hi there,

can i change the size of filesystem afterwards.

i want give some more space to my /export/home and want take some space from /opt.

is it possible in solaris ?

Any help will be appriciated.

take a look at the program FIPS, it is supposed to resize partitions without losing data. you may need to boot into DOS however to use it.

On Solaris if you are using ufs partitions, you will have to backup the date, use format to resize the partitions, use mkfs to make the new filesystems, and put the data back. If you are using LVM you may be able to do it but shrinking partitions isn't always possible, thus you would have no space to grow the other one.
