writing to a cdr drive.

ive looked around for software to do this in linux, but am still not sure how to. i want to be able to mount a cdr and write to it and be able to take the disk out and finish writing whatever i want to it at a later time. can we do this in linux?

Check out the "-multi" flag for cdrecord under Linux. That might get the job done for what you need.

Search for "-multi".

No problemo!

Did it work the way that you expected? I haven't tried any multi-session writing on either *Nix or Win32.

yeah, its pretty easy, for each time you write to the cdr, you have to use the -multi flag, and for each time to write to the disk again, you must use the -multi flag until you want to close the session, which is done by not using the -multi flag on the last write that you make to the cdr. thanks again. on windows i remember you can, with the right software write to the cdr just as if it were a floppy, or harddrive, then you have to go through a sort of formating proccess to close the disk. cdrecord -multi works great. thanks again.
