Hello,
I need to restore a file that was backed up using BRU. For starters I need to know how to list the archive on my tape.
I tried the following which is what the man page for BRU sugegsts: bru -xvf /dev/nst1 /violatio.sh
I get the following error
bru: [W130] warning - read error on first block: errno = 12, Cannot allocate memory
bru: [A121] load volume 1 - press ENTER to continue on device '/dev/nst1'
I then use [root@mail-02 ~]# bru -t /dev/nst1
bru: [W002] "/dev/st0": can't open archive: errno = 5, Input/output error
I use the above to get a listing of the files on the archive.
As for the bru version this is what I get:

backup: bru -cvf /dev/tape /path-to-backup
restore: bru -xvf /dev/tape /file(s)-to-restore
