Vsftpd Not showing icons

Hi guys.

I have configured ftp server with vsftpd. now here is the crazy question:
vsftpd does not show icons besides folders and files and also it doesn't show folder sizes.

Your ftp client displays icons, not vsftpd.

For folder sizes -- are you referring to the sum of the sizes of the files contained in a folder? Or the size of the directory itself?

by Folder size i mean sum of the sizes of files contained in the folder.

I use firefox for connecting ftp server, but it shows some icons, not all og them.

I cannot respond to what firefox does or does show when displaying the contents of a directory. I have to admit that I normally use a command line ftp client. As far as "folder size", some ftp clients will descend through subdirectories and calculate the size, some don't. It is not a function that FTP provides.

if you are not comforatble using ftp in browser, then try <winscp software> ftp session, once you connect it can list folders with size on ftp server.

Can there be alt-texts to icons?

Can you add hover texts (alt-texts) to icons? It is not always obvious what each of them mean just by looking at them. Sometimes it is clear from the url it points to, but for accessibility reasons alone it would be good to have alt-texts as a standard. (1 Reply)
