The find with "-xdev" parameter should not have looked anywhere except the root filesystem and yet it found files such as:
Quote:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root admin 593M 17 Aug 04:36 ///Volumes/Files_Backup_1/Backup_2010-08-17_043000/webmaster.tar.gz
Just to be sure, can you do the following "df".
Code:
df /Volumes/Files_Backup_1

If it comes back as the root filesystem we are getting warm.

Also, what is the output from this command:
Code:
mount

I'm a bit mystified by "/Volumes/Files_Backup_1 1" . Unless I'm misunderstanding the output from your version of "mount" and "df" is this actually the name of the mountpoint rather than "/Volumes/Files_Backup_1" ?

Anybody with experience of this Linux know?

Yes, it would seem to be at a weird location.

Hi.

Looks like OS X to me, but it's been a while since I played around with it ... cheers, drl

I unmouted the disk and restarted the Server to it would remount itself. Now it seems to be mounted on Files_Backup_1 1. It can't make its mind up whether should be Files_Backup_1 1 or Files_Backup_1

Code:
mail:~ timgolding$ df -h
