Hide User From Root
I'm tying to find out what my options are to hide a user from all other users, including root. Running in a VM (e.g. KVM, XEN) isn't an option at present.

Users with root access can know the account exists, but that's it. In other words, root can create, disable or remove the user and other admin type functions, but what that user does, needs to be opaque to the system. The user is a power sucking alien.

Thanks for any suggestions.

This account has root privileges. Was created by root, just can't allow root to know anything more than the user exists.

Afraid you are out of luck. Root knows all by design.

That's the conclusion I came too, but also know I don't know everything.

Best I've come up with is to encrypt everything on the file system.
