Hey all, I have a request from a third party that will be setting my firm up for an account so we can sftp files to their server in a Production environment. I know where the public keys are located on our Red Hat Linux envronment. I was going to ftp the keys from the Linux environment over to my windows machine and email from there but now I'm getting all hung about about whether their will be some conversion of the files and the requester will complain they are no longer in Unix format. Is this a viable concern? I cannot seem to get the keys attached using mailx so I would like to just ftp them and use Outlook. Also, as an aside, the requestor never mentioned whether he wanted the DSA or RSA keys so I am sending both. Any suggestions or am I good with my ftp to local windows method.

Windows may add carriage control characters. Try the above, if you have base64 command you can use that also. See the base64 man/info page.

Jim, thanks for the comments, uuencode does not appear to exist on my system. The problem when I use the base64 command is that the key is placed in the body of the message, I need it to be an attachment.
