Try this

insure your login name on windowNT(W2K) is SAME on
unix machine. OR the NT login name is on unix local/NIS password file.

Do not forget to edit your /.rhosts file

p.s are those 2 machines on same domain ?

I can rsh to my UNIX machine here (SunOS 4.1.2) without having a valid NT logon name using W2K.
