I have only one read one edition of the book (the one i bought some 15 years ago) and probably this is the first one. I can't comment on the other editions but - given the scrutiny of Prof. Tanenbaum in his work - probably the last one is even better.
I suppose it won't matter all too much anyways, because the most important content - the principles - haven't changed at all. Only details in the implementations change, not the basic design principles. Its like with cars: cars built today are quite different than cars from 25 years ago, but they still have 4 wheels, a motor, a clutch, a gearbox, ... and for a reason so!
