AIX

Hello everybody, am new to AIX. can someone help me with below

i was trying to do an ml upgrade on AIX5.2 from 01-09

when i do a lppchk -v, i get

X11.base.rte 5.2.0.10 (usr: COMMITTED, root: not installed)

i tried to remove the fileset using smitty remove and it says the fileset is not installed.

I tried to install the fileset again using smitty install and it says the fileset is already installed.
would appreciate if someone could help me with this.

-v Verifies that all installed files in the fileset have the correct checksum value after the installation. Installed files are always verified for correct file size after installation. Use this flag after network or remote device installations. If any errors are reported, it might be necessary to install the software product again. Post-installation requisite consistency checks are also started by this flag.

so it looks like the install of X11.base.rte 5.2.0.10 failed the cheksum, have you tried to clean up with lppchk -C ?
