Aix - Service Pack

I've recently installed ServicePack1 for Tecnology_Level 9 of AIX 5.2 .

The result of installation is "OK" but with oslevel -s i dont see the service pack installed ....

after many research i try (with many luck!!)

instfix -i|grep SP

and the result :

All filesets for 5200-08-01_SP were found.
All filesets for 5200-07-CSP_SP were found.
All filesets for 5200-08-02_SP were found.
All filesets for 5200-08-CSP_SP were found.
Not all filesets for 5200-09-01_SP were found.

then for the discover the missing package i do

instfix -ciqk 5200-09-01_SP|grep ":-:"

and the result :

5200-09-01_SP:devices.pci.1410b800.rte:5.2.0.96:5.2.0.95:-:AIX5200-09-01

...... this is my missing package

devices.pci.1410b800.rte:5.2.0.96

now after installing , i re-try with oslevel -s :

=> 5200-09-01

victory !!!

Just to add some info to this

you can nou also use this

oslevel -r
5200-09-01

oslevel -rl 5200-09-01 ( or 02 03 etc )
This will then show you what you still need to go to this level of the OS

XP Service Pack 2: My Recommendation: Don't Upgrade

Hi, I have de-installed Windows SP2 on XP Pro. The new 'security features' are really annoying and don't add any value to an experienced user. Also, SP2 also ruined performance of Netscape 7.1, and generally killed CPU performance. I do not recommend installation of SP2, based on my... (2 Replies)
