I have a 300GB ROOTVG volume groups with one filesystem /backup having 200GB allocated space

I am using iostat and /proc/<pid>/status to determine the disk usage per process. I have a question regarding buffer cache. is that possible?
i installed one disk of a old rs/6000 in a linux machine.
the problem seems to be the partition layout.
linux fdisk tells me that aix disklabels are not supported,
so the problem seems to be the partition layout, not the filesystem.

I have mirrored SAN volume on my B80 rootvg. Can I just remove the mirror and "Remove a P V from a V G" and it will be a diskless AIX?
Is that going to boot on SAN rootvg volume?
