I am asked to build or upgrade an AIX server by looking at one of the other servers. So they gave me 2 servers. One to build (A) and another to take the reference from (B). So the servers have the following configs.
Server A Server B
Now I want to concentrate on the Clock speed difference between Server A and B.
If I look at the Clock speed on Server A, it is set to 1904 as opposed to 4095 on Server B. Should I need to increase this value on Server A to match Server B? Or it does not matter since Server A has more number of Processors than Server B to compensate?
I am a beginner on the Server configurations. Please let me know your valuable opinion on this.

You will be cloning basically. The easiest way to clone is to update, in your case System B, with all devices and drivers (only the hardware actually installed is actually loaded - dynamic kernel loading).
The easiest way to have this happen is to download the latest Technology Level - and the associated service pack and use smitty update_all.
AIX will do the rest.
There is another way as well, with the drivers getting installed as part of an mksysb restore - but that takes more time and space to describe that I have time now.
Short story: get all devices and drivers installed and you can install that image on any supported platform (i.e., Power4 and newer).
