During CD boot, hard disk does not get recognised

Hello,

I have an AIX 5.1 server. Model : 7029-6E3. The users of this server have forgotted the root password and I am now supposed to reset it. I boot through the AIX 5.1 CD and try to go to the maitenance mode. But I am facing this issue, where, the hard disk does not recognised during this period. But when I try to boot the server normally, the OS comes up. I have tried to go to the SMS and scan for the hard disk, the hard disk is detected there. I have also reset the boot sequence to default and I'm able to see the hard disk. Can anyone help me resolve this please???????

The main reason you are not able to view the disk is that th 5.1 cd you are trying to boot fom does not have the device drivers for the disk. Try using another media; probably the latest one!!! Hope this helps.
