Hello All,
I'm trying to compile Apache + Resin on AIX. This seems to be a major issue with the AIX system as I've come across so far. I was able to successfully compile the apache portion with the recommended compiler 3.3.2 after googling a bit. Once agian, I'm stuck with the resin portion. I attempt to perform the following set of instructions:
1) ./configure --with-apache=/user/local/apache
2) make
and here is where it craps out...
(cd src/c/plugin; make)
for dir in common apache ; do (cd $dir; make); done
gcc -c -g -O2 -bexpall stream.c && mv stream.o stream.lo
gcc: `-b' must come at the start of the command line
make: 1254-004 The error code from the last command is 1.
okay, so gcc has more switches then the letters in the alphabet of english and I haven't exactly learned everyone of them. If I place the -b in from of this I get the following error:
gcc -b -c -g -O2 -bexpall stream.c && mv stream.o stream.lo
I get this message:
gcc: couldn't run `-c-gcc-3.3.2': No such file or directory
its obvious that this a syntax error. Would an individual that has more brain capacity that I assist me with some possible guidance?
Background:
AIX OS: 5.2.0.0
GNU GCC Compiler: GNU gcc 3.3.2
