Hello ALL

I have a p510-9110 server with Aix 5.3 installed ..
I have many issues related to (oracle 11.5.3 apps) .
and oracle said :this OS is not supported with the current apps
..just 5.1 .

I tried to install 5.1 on the p510 server , but even no boot from 5.1 cd !!!
after goggling and search i found the the minimum os is 5.2 .

Please is there any way to install 5.1 on p510-9110 server ?
can i downgrade the Firmware to do that ???

5.1 is out of support for a long time. AIX 5.3 also is out of regular support.

Why do you want to go with 5.1 ? You should go with 6.1.

Installing Oracle 11g on a unsupported and old OS will cause more pains and issues.

Hello all
I did not mean oracle database 11g ,but i mean application 11.5.3 on database 8.2 (old version) so it does not support the 5.3 or 6 at all ..
So , the only solution is to install the 5.1 as a supported version.
Again , any way to install 5.1 on this p510-9110 server ?

Hi,

if you have pre requsite than you can install 5.1 OS but 5.1 is out of support from a long back.

you wont get support in case of any bugs.

This is the question , how to install 5.1 on my p510 server?????
The server itself does not support 5.1 , even couldnt boot from the 5.1 cd !!!
The problem is how enable this server to install 5.1 ?
I can install 5.2 or 5.3 ormally .

The server does not support AIX 5.1, too old, so you need an older server.

As you know , its difficult to get anther server evevn older ...
Can i upgrade the firmware for thi p510 to support aix 5.1 ? Or downgrade ?
If there is a chance please tell me in details
