unknow pci device as seen by lsslot or lscfg

on a p5 520, running aix 7.1 with the latest TL and SP..

had a 133 MHz Sun PCI 1G or quad 4 x 100 Meg Ethernet card installed..

but it shows unknown type using using lscfg or lsslot

Is there addtional drivers to be installed ???

did the same thing on a SYMBIOS Ultra320 diff dual-port SCSI and Qlogic dual port 4-GIG fibre card, they are both OK, shown by lsslot and lscfg..

any comments ?? SmilieSmilieSmilie

Why on earth would you expect a proprietary system and OS to support a card made by another manufacturer, this ain't no little ol' pc user forum!

I think you should call Sun, or ask on a Sun forum, for drivers for your card on AIX, which will give a few more people a good laugh.

Some IBM cards are "badged" from other manufacturers so you might "get away with" the default drivers but it seems your Sun cards are simply not supported or recognised by AIX.
