AIX

Hi,
im new here and i have too admit, fairly new not to Unix in general but to AIX in specific.

I have here a DS3512 SAN, connected by Fiber Channel to a Power 720 Express, running AIX 7.1

The DS3512 has been running for some time now with 6 drives configures as 3 Raid1-Arrays, with no problems. A few days ago we fitted another 6 drives into the DS. Configuration of the drives was easy enough using Storage Manager, setting up RAID, Logical Drive, LUN mapping.

The two new logical drives i set up for test where even recognized by AIX as hdisk7 and hdisk8 (hdisk0 to 6 are already in use), but setting up the volume groups in smitty produced some write errors, so i decided to start over and removed the drives in smitty (Devices -> Fixed Disk -> Remove a Disk).

If i remember correctly, a question popped up, asking if wanted to keep the definitions in the database, and i answered to remove these too. I assume there lies the source of my problem.

From there on i couldn`t get AIX to recognize the disks. From everywhere i try, smitty or manually running cfgmgr, i get this error:

Method error (/usr/lib/methods/cfgefscsi -l fscsi1 ):

The old disks are still running smoothly (connected to fscsi0)
Any idea on this?

My idea is that i have to reinstall a ODM fileset for AIX to recognize the drives again, but right now i have no idea which one and where to get it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
