hosts.equiv - Entries

Hi,

I have found such these entries in the hosts.equiv file in the AIX (6.1/5.3):

root host123

oracle host5487

Please tell the risks? Can these hosts enter the system without passwords??
should these entries be removed?

Thanks
Naveed

Depending on the settings, it allows ids on two systems to be considered the same, trusted, but on every system I used, you still needed ~/.rhosts to make it work of any account. ssh and keys with no password is much safer.
