What is the minimum version of AIX you have to have running in order to upgrade to AIX 7.1? I have a 5.3 machine that when I try to do a "rte" upgrade via NIM, it does the packet count from my NIM server but then reboots off its hdisks again. For some reason, it won't go into the installation and maintenance menu.
Code:
hostname:/:# oslevel -s
5300-06-01-0000

It helps if the LPAR meets the AIX 7.1 memory requirement of 512 MB. I only had the LPAR at 256 MB. After increasing it, the LPAR booted to the installation and maintenance menus.
Hello,
For upgrading from OL 6.3 to 6.5 is this possible to upgrade without rebuild?
What should be the generic steps in migration to OL 6.5. IS this like building up from scratch ?
Best regards,

Hi Gurus,
If I have a failed upgrade status of tl/sp and I remove the failed software and I commit and everything works fine. Should I still say this a good upgrade?
Thank you for any comments you may add. (1 Reply)
