about detail scope in AIX

I am mac end user learn some shell and applescripting
I am looking AIX as system admin as career and learning AIX p520

what is scope of AIX as admin and about technology in demand in market
I am confused, can anybody from AIX elaborate or mail me some experience

One AIX is much like another, since it escaped BSD, and it will be as healthy as IBM can manage for quite some time. It is good to work on UNIX skills, as any sysadmin should have them before going into the odd worlds of administrative tools and hardware configuration. Many SA also do some hardware work, in small shops, but for AIX small shops seem less likely. SA demand has been pretty good for a long time, as far as I can tell. Communications skills are not to be neglected, either. People want info from their SAs in polished forms.
