Fix the password for specific user

Guy's

I'm looking for where the password to be saved in AIX or I'm looking to by one step or one script to set and fix the password for this user appuser to be abc1234 , I'm using this command
Code:
passwd appuser

but it's asking me to put new password I don't like this I want to set the password directly by the script to be fixed

Pls advice in this how can I set the password for this user appuser to be abc1234

Have a look at chpasswd

As root you can run:

Code:
echo appuser:abc1234 | chpasswd -c

The -c flag will make sure that the password doesn't need to be changed at next logon.

Although if this is shared application account you may wish to consider having users login as themselves and switching to the appuser via sudo - where they enter there own password rather than that of the account. That way it is possible to track which users have been working in the appuser account,
