@aix_guy: it has not been resolved yet because my colleague is trying to find a laptop or available workstation which has a serial port so that I can connect to the server's serial port and investigate further..

Hi there,

I face this problem before with one of the ancient AIXbox, the machine boot as as normal when we reboot it until one day we encountered the same problem as u.

All I did is to connect the serial cable to the port, u select the console u need and it just bypassed and boot as normal.
