However, as mentioned, there does not seem to be much support or interest in this type of forum, and the standard open forums provide such great answers, that we have not tried this approach.

The support (here) is great, already and we have a great open community. (Thanks!)

filosophizer, what are your requirements you are not getting here now? More privacy?
I have most of the questions answered here. But I second the idea of NEO. however, before starting a paid only forum, we could start privileged member.

For example, if someone donates to the forum or there is some nominal yearly fee, then he gets privileged status and his queries will be answered in the best possible way.
what do you think ?

I think that queries are already answered in the best possible way now. At least I try my best to answer them as good as I possibly can. The problem usually are not the answers, the problem are the questions. If the posters would care about posting at least the information we need to answer the question right away (AIX version, samples of vmstat, tunables and so on - and we would not have to ask every time wait for days to get something we can work with - THAT would improve the responsetime and quality a lot.
I would like to see as well a confirmation that things improved or problems are solved after we tried to help ?
