AiX Memory upgrade
Hi,

I have just upgraded one of our AiX box's memory but my partition has not been able to use this extra 2gb - It seems to have a maximum memory size of around 6gb.

The system can see 8gb but I do not seem to be able to allocate this to the partition.

Any help would be gratefully received.

try to cold restart your lpar and see if the lpar picks up the new memory

Since you mentioned that the system has a max memory size of 6 GB.. Change that in the Lpar profiles and try increasing the memory using DLPAR operation. else change the setting in Lpar profile and try a restart.
