install Hitachi driver package / software to your systems
- lun masking
- lun zoning
then assign the luns to your volumegroups / diskgroups as per usual

Before to connect the HDS Storage to AIX, yo need install the ODM FIleset.

HDS provide 2 types of ODM, the first to work with native AIX MPIO, the second to work with HDLM software.

You need install only one of ODM types.

You need review with HDS professional services, the correct flags in the Hostgroup, you need the correct flags to avoid reservation conflicts betwen the cluster nodes.

After to made the zonning and assing the LUNS, if you AIX servers use HDLM, install the software.

at finish you need adjust the mqueue and rw_timeout values for each LUN,

In the cluster scenario probably you need set the "reserved" flags for each LUN in the aix enviroment

Probably you need adjust many parameters in cluster enviroment.

I recommend that you read the "Hitachi HDLM AIX users guide", to review all this themes.

Attaching HDS External storage to AIX Servers

Hi cerebr0 and zxmaus,

Thanks for your guidance. One more question. How do we do the data replication for HDS arrays attached to AIX Servers. The steps given to us for data replication are as follows:

(i) Enable Fabric Splitter
(ii) Attach RP
(iii) Enable the replication.

Can you please guide me with regards to this?

Thanks in advance.

prtaix,
I think you will find this is done on the HDS not from AIX so you may want to post this question on an HDS forum as it is more of an HDS storage subsystem question than an AIX topic.
