AIX 6.1 IDSLDAP Installation Challenges
Please bare with me, since I am new to AIX and LDAP.

I am attempting to install idsldap server on our AIX 6.1 NIM server.

I installed the following packages:

I then run smit ldap -> LDAP SERVER -> Configure this Host as a LDAP server ->
I've tried various LDAP Admin DN's: dc=company dc=com
Schema: rfc2307aix

I leave the suffix base default: cn=aixdata
I set the server port number: 389

I'm not sure what I'm missing, but a the db2 errors are one direction I'm researching. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Propebly: you haven't server apache.
I think becouse:

Or

Thanks for the response. I'm not aware of Apache being a prerequisite to install a idsldap server.

Please read documents. (I havn't read it).
I think that 'smitty ldap' try configure instance 'ldapdb2' at server db2.
It easy by manager built at apache.
At smit key F6 you can see commands.

I googled the 1st errorcode you got when trying to start db2:
IBM Info Center, Tivoli Directory Server

Could be a license problem. There should be a more descriptive log somewhere from this setup (I forgot where DB2 puts it's logs but should be easy to spot). I agree with john1212 that you should have the installation documentation at hand (if not already). Maybe there is also a Redbook out for this already - maybe worth checking.

Thanks for the responses. After further digging I found some of the issue, but ultimately decided idsldap isn't something I care to use. I read over 100 pgs of idsldap installation redbook. The redbooks seem overly granular.
I have openldap/phpldapadmin running perfectly on a RHEL 5.5 system now, so I'll work on configuring that as my ldap server. I appreciate everyones time to respond on my thread.
